As DNA technology is increasingly used as one of the most effective forensic tools to exonerate or convict a suspect, it is crucial for attorneys to understand and apply this powerful technology in their casework. DDC offers legal professionals access to this indispensable resource through its forensic DNA testing and consultation services.
For legal professionals, we are able to offer the following DNA testing and consultation services:
Second Opinion Testing: if you want to find an objective and neutral laboratory to test the samples that have been processed by another laboratory, DDC Forensic Services can help you. We offer a variety of testing systems including STR, Y-STR, and Mitochondrial DNA.. Accurate and fast results are guaranteed.
DNA Case Review: If you want to review a case without re-testing it, DDC can help you to review the qualifications of another laboratory that did the testing, and evaluate their procedures and testing results. By doing this, you will be able to understand the quality and limitations of the results before trial. A written review will be provided and can be used in court.
DNA Expert Consultation: Our outstanding DNA scientists will assist when you consider initiating a DNA test, read DNA testing reports, or need resources concerning DNA technology for your case work.
Expert Testimony: Our DNA experts are available to testify in court whenever DNA evidence is used. Our PhD scientists have testified in court over 600 times.
The DDC Forensic Laboratory is fully accredited by ASC:LD/LBA-International and NYSDOH. It is one of only a select few private forensic laboratories to receive the prestigious ASCLD/LAB-International accreditation. These accreditations set DDC apart from other laboratories in the industry in terms of quality control.
